Extend

Learn how to use the Extend tool in our Image Editor.

The Extend tool is intended to allow you to make your image taller or wider than it was originally rendered. For example, you might have a shoulders up portrait of a character, and you want that image to be full body.

To make this happen, choose the Extend tool, then choose the direction you wish the image to "extend". The available options are (Up, Down, Left or Right). There is also a prompt field, which will allow you to tell the AI model what you want for the filled in image. In most basic scenarios we find that using the prompt used to generate the source image works great. Once you're happy with your settings, click "Extend Image", and wait for the results.

Troubleshooting

  • Sometimes extending an image downward can cause replication of some elements. For example, in some instances we've seen the characters' torso repeated a few times, with slight variations. In many cases, using the "Modify" tool to correct the issue has worked satisfactorily, but periodically the model has trouble reconciling all of the changes and spits out unhelpful images.
